Pre Arrival -Written Evaluations
Before each student arrives to camp, he will have received an evaluation
questionnaire. We will use this information to find out your level of
experience and to identify specific technical tendencies . We will also
use this information to identify your strengths and weaknesses. This
informational questionnaire will help our staff put together the best
plan of action for each student. In an effort to find out as much about
your wrestling ability as possible, we will also recommend that each
applicant send a video of himself wrestling. (If available)
21 - Day Schedule
The schedule for the 21 days of camp will include evaluations, a plan
of action, instruction, classroom lectures, running, weight training,
strategy sessions, competition and cultural enhancement days. Below
you will find the daily schedule of how the 21 days of camp will be
broken down into specific units.

Days 1-2 Individual Evaluations
During the first two days of camp every student will receive an individual
interview and technical evaluation. This will be a very important aspect
of our overall program.
During the evaluation process, our expert staff in consultation with
the student, will identify seven specific techniques for each student.
Our instructors and college mentors will help students perfect the seven
techniques over the next 21 days.
The seven techniques will include 3 takedowns, two Riding and Pinning
techniques and two Escapes and Reversals. Based on the evaluations and
a personal interview, each student will complete this phase of the program
with a written identification of the seven techniques and a plan of
action. It is our goal to get students to the point where they can perform
the seven techniques with confidence against any opponent.
Students will learn and be exposed to many other techniques during
camp, however there will be an intensive effort to perfect the seven
techniques that are identified during the initial evaluation process.
Days 3-7 Learning Seven Technical skills
Now that students have identified the seven technical skills suited
to their physical make up and style of wrestling, it is time to put
the plan into action. The next five days will be spent learning and drilling
the specific techniques on which the individual is concentrating.
Our College Mentors and Lead Instructors will assist students in small
groups on learning, drilling and perfecting their seven skills. At the
end of the six days, each student will be able to perform his seven
skills at a high level of proficiency.
Days 8-11 Set Ups
The next four days will be spent concentrating on set-ups for the
moves already in place. A great deal of time will be spent emphasizing
the importance of each set up. One of the advantages of spending this
much time on set ups is that each wrestler can examine how important
the set up is in all aspects of the sport. Many times setting up a pinning
combination or an escape is ignored. Another advantage of this phase
is that there will be enough time to show a wide variety of set ups.
This will potentially prepare a wrestler for any situation.
Days 12-16 Finishes
The third phase of the sport that will be focused on is the finish.
Once again a variety of finishes will be demonstrated. The finish of
a move is often time the hardest thing to perfect. Our instructors and
college mentors will help each wrestler find and perfect his perfect
finish. This will help our students work each move to completion in
any given situation.
The drilling time in days 12-16 will incorporate the set up, the move
and the finish. By this time each wrestler has been working on his series
of techniques for almost three weeks. By taking each area in small sections
and then building from the parts, the whole should be complete. It is
now that the the focus on perfecting the whole move starts.
Days 17-20 Defense and Counter Attack
The final area of concentration is defense and counter attack. This
is an area of wrestling that is often overlooked. A point of emphasis
during these five days will be the counter attack. By breaking defense
and counter attacking down to a conceptual level, we will show our students
how to stop large numbers of moves. The counter attack involves turning
your defense into a scoring opportunity. The concept is not to teach
a wrestler how to stop one move, but how to control body position so
that he can stop almost all moves. Once a wrestler has fully understood
this concept, he will have the potential to score from anywhere on the
mat
Day 21 Exit Evaluation and Graduation Ceremonies
The final day of camp will be spent on an exit evaluation to show
growth. We will also have graduation ceremonies. This is a time to celebrate
what you have accomplished.
