The Carl Adams wrestling camp is considered one of the premier wrestling camps in the country.
This school has, for over 29 years, offered high school students classes aimed at developing them into world-class athletes.
The school was founded by Carl Adams a former All-American wrestler for Iowa State University and world class wrestler. The Carl Adams wrestling camp teaches techniques developed by one of the best coaches in college wrestling history with a career record of 257-160-5 spanning three decades. During these three decades as the assistant head coach at Iowa State he helped take them to win 2 NCAA championships and 3 runner up finishes. He then became head coach at Rhode Island taking them two 2 consecutive New England Championships. As the current head coach at Boston University he has helped take the Terriers to 10 New England championships and has sent at least 2 wrestlers to the NCAA championships every year during his tenure.
Bringing this knowledge and skill to his wrestling camps over the years has made an extremely valuable contribution to the world of wrestling. The camp offers 5, 7 and 12 day course that are built around all skill levels from beginners to the most advanced competitors. There is always something new for everyone to learn.
They offer a world class staff that includes Olympic medal winners, world champions and winners of coach of the year awards. The staff of the Carl Adams wrestling camps not only features these champions but also a team of college mentors who are still actively competing at the collegiate level. Each of them is handpicked and is well trained in training methods used at the camp. The intention of the camp is to have at least one member of staff for every 14 students to insure that everyone gets the help and training that they need.
The goal of Carl Adams' wrestling camps are to help each student advance his wrestling skills to make him a better wrestler. In order to do this each student is required to fill out a questionnaire to help the staff evaluate his skill levels and place him in the most appropriate level course. Courses are tailor made for each skill level from entry level to the most advanced students so that each level is challenged to become better by the time they leave.
The courses at the Carl Adams wrestling camps are available in two separate formats, the Primary Format and the Intensive Format. The Primary format is designed for those wrestlers who want an intense learning experience but may not have the level of fitness required to participate in the morning conditioning exercises that include running, weight lifting and plenty of live wrestling. While this level of course is intended to test the students to their fullest, it is not at the level of the Intense Format.
The Intense Format is designed to help students who already have good basic wrestling skills and help them excel. Intensive physical training along with attention to the technical skills is used to help take wrestlers to the next level.
The courses offered at the Carl Adams wrestling camp will help take young aspiring wrestlers to the height of their careers in a fun and educational environment.
